This is an information day for students with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASDs) or a Non-Verbal Learning Disability (NVLDs) and their families. It is intended for students who are in grades 10, 11 or 12 and are planning to attend a post-secondary institution (university or college). Dates for the fall/winter 2018/2019 will be posted as soon as they are confirmed.
Topics to be discussed include:
- transition realities for students and their families
- accessing support systems at university/college
- strategies for academic success
- social life at university/college
- nurturing independence
At times, students will attend information sessions apart from their teachers and parents (or other support persons). Information about how the day will be structured and the sessions that will be offered is available from this ASD Transition Day Agenda.
Please note that registration is limited and spots will be filled on a first come, first placed basis. There is a registration fee of $25 for each person attending (student, teacher, parent or other support person). Payment can be made via PAYPAL as part of registration. To register, complete our online ASD Transition Day Registration Form [NEED LINK].
